Paris, France – September 24th, 2026 – Artefact, a global data and artificial intelligence consulting company, today announced that it is joining the Positive AI Community, a non-profit that brings together a community of companies and organizations committed to Responsible, Concrete and Applicable Artificial Intelligence.
As Artefact joins Positive AI, Médéric Chomel, CEO Africa and Global Lead Ethical AI, shares his perspective on the data, governance and human challenges of scaling AI. He also discusses Artefact’s partnership with fellow member Naaia to help organisations put AI Act requirements into practice, and the ambitions behind Adopt AI, taking place in Paris this December.
Why has Artefact chosen to join the Positive AI community?
At Artefact, our purpose isn’t just about deploying technology for technology’s sake; it’s about creating tangible, sustainable business value while fostering responsible digital transformation. During my 12 years at Orange, and now leading Artefact’s operations in Africa, I have seen that technology transformations only succeed when built on trust, transparency, and a human-centric approach.
Joining the Positive AI community was therefore a natural fit with our values. Its operational, open-source framework for Responsible AI goes beyond high-level ethics to provide practical, measurable standards. For us, Responsible AI is not an afterthought or a compliance checkbox—it is a prerequisite for scaling AI sustainably. By joining this community, we aim to co-create standards, share best practices, and ensure that the AI systems we design and industrialize create value for businesses, employees, and society.
What are the main challenges companies face when deploying Responsible AI at scale?
Moving from a local proof-of-concept (POC) to enterprise-wide industrialization is where many AI initiatives stall. When adding the Responsible AI dimension, organizations typically face three main challenges:
- Turning principles into practice: translating concepts such as fairness, transparency, and unbiased outputs into concrete data pipelines, MLOps processes, and algorithmic checks requires close collaboration between legal, business, and data teams.
- Building strong data and governance foundations: Responsible AI requires reliable and traceable data, strong privacy practices, and continuous bias and compliance monitoring. This requires an operating model transformation, not just a technical fix.
- Driving organizational change: technology is rarely the biggest hurdle; culture is. Scaling Responsible AI requires upskilling teams, establishing clear human accountability, and ensuring users understand how and why AI-driven decisions are made.
Artefact has partnered with Naaia, another Positive AI member, to help companies comply with the AI Act. Could you tell us more about this collaboration?
At Artefact and Naaia, we see the European AI Act not simply as a constraint on innovation, but as an opportunity to establish stronger standards for safety, quality, and digital sovereignty and to build competitive advantage through trust.
Our partnership combines Naaia’s AI Management System (AIMS™) expertise with Artefact’s end-to-end consulting and technical capabilities.
Naaia’s SaaS platform provides the infrastructure to manage AI compliance, from system inventory and qualification to compliance action plans and risk management, translating regulatory requirements into operational workflows across the AI lifecycle.
Artefact’s expertise helps clients embed these principles directly into the design and implementation of AI use cases, including “privacy by design” and “AI Act by design”. We work with teams to integrate risk management into their workflows and deployment processes, ensuring ongoing compliance.
Together, we help organizations in Europe and internationally build trusted, compliant, and market-ready AI products.
Artefact is organising Adopt AI at the Grand Palais in Paris on 3 and 4 December. How has this event so quickly become the “Davos of AI”?
The rapid rise of Adopt AI reflects a fundamental shift in the market: from AI experimentation to large-scale enterprise adoption. Unlike conferences focused primarily on future trends or research, Adopt AI was built around corporate reality, business transformation, and concrete value creation.
Its success is driven by three key pillars:
- Strong C-level and policy representation: bringing together Fortune 500 CEOs, global tech leaders, AI lab founders, researchers, and policymakers at the Grand Palais creates a unique environment for strategic dialogue.
- A focus on actionable business outcomes: the event goes beyond theoretical discussions to explore real-world use cases, AI industrialization, workforce transformation, and technological sovereignty.
- Cross-ecosystem collaboration: dedicated tracks across sectors such as Finance, Health, Retail, Energy, Defence, and Planet bring the broader ecosystem together to explore how AI is reshaping businesses and society.
Adopt AI has therefore become a key gathering where global leaders come together not only to discuss the future of AI, but to shape how it is adopted at scale.
