Your Role

As a Manager Data Engineering, you will play a strategic role in delivering large-scale Data & AI transformation programs while leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.

You will combine technical expertise, people leadership and client engagement to build modern, scalable and cloud-native data platforms.

Your Responsibilities

Lead Data Engineering Projects

  • Lead the design and delivery of modern cloud data platforms.
  • Define scalable architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Ensure engineering excellence, code quality, security and performance.
  • Drive best practices across Data Engineering, DevOps and MLOps.

Manage & Grow Teams

  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of Data Engineers.
  • Support consultants in their technical development and career progression.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance and knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding and capability building.

Partner with Clients

  • Act as a trusted advisor for clients throughout their data transformation journey.
  • Understand business challenges and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead technical workshops and architecture discussions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders.

Drive Innovation

  • Stay at the forefront of Cloud, Data Engineering and AI technologies.
  • Promote engineering best practices and reusable frameworks.
  • Contribute to Artefact's internal communities, technical events and innovation initiatives.

Your Profile

We're looking for passionate leaders who combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and people management skills.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience designing and implementing modern Data Platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of Python and SQL.
  • Strong experience with cloud ecosystems such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with distributed data processing technologies including Spark, Beam or Databricks.
  • Expertise with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Composer.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Good knowledge of DevOps, DataOps and MLOps practices.
  • Experience with relational and cloud-native databases.
  • Understanding of API development and microservices architecture.

Leadership Skills

  • Proven experience leading Data Engineering teams.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and foster technical excellence.
  • Strong project management and delivery capabilities.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and make strategic technical decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting complex technical topics to business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
  • Previous experience leading teams in consulting or large-scale transformation projects.
  • Professional proficiency in English (French is a plus).
