For the event, 100 fragrances created by Le Scentographe will be produced and sent to participants.

This experience was born from a collaboration between Robertet, a perfume and flavor house founded in 1850, and Artefact, a leading provider of artificial intelligence consulting and engineering services. Using a photograph shared by the visitor, Le Scentographe can instantly create its own olfactory signature.
At the heart of the system, NaturIA analyzes the visual elements of a photograph—light, colors, textures, depth, composition, and emotions—to translate them into a scent experience and offer a fragrant interpretation: a way to evoke the photograph’s atmosphere, prolong its resonance, and anchor it in the subconscious.
With Le Scentographe, Robertet and Artefact are breaking new ground, exploring the intersection of the visual and the olfactory. This transition from one sense to another enriches the experience, offering visitors a more intimate and lasting encounter with their own memories.
“The Scentographe gives photography what it was missing: an olfactory imprint. Associating a scent with a moment is like freezing that moment in memory with an intensity that only scent can convey. It is this rare experience of a powerful memory anchor that we wanted to recreate with the Scentographe.”
Jérémy Carles, Head of Innovation, division parfumerie Robertet
By entrusting Artefact with the task of bridging the gap between the image and this intelligence, Robertet has taken a groundbreaking step: extending human and artistic expertise without ever betraying the emotion that gives it meaning.
What sets NaturIA apart is its DNA: a body of work spanning 175 years of creating value from human-generated data. At Robertet, AI treats data as part of a legacy, processing it as a new raw material with the same high standards as a natural ingredient.
“From pixels to fragrance, the Scentographe redefines creativity. With NaturIA, our creative memory becomes a technological raw material. By combining artificial intelligence with human expertise, we accelerate the creative process while preserving what matters most: the emotion and uniqueness of Robertet.”
Guillaume Castel, CIO, Robertet
NaturIA does not replace expertise; it extends its scope. Intuition, knowledge of materials, formulas, and human sensibilities have been structured to enable the machine to “interpret” an image through the eyes of a perfumer.
“Our challenge was to successfully build a model using ‘emotional’ data. By training the model on hundreds of descriptors, we were able to highlight the authenticity of the perfumers’ craft.”
Robin Doumerc, CTO chez Artefact
