AI Evolution: from Analytical to Generative

In the past, when we talked about AI, we utilised machine learning to analyse data for information identification, detection, prediction etc. Nowadays, AI is more creative, with the foundation of a vast sample of training sets, it has the efficiency advantage in copywriting, artwork or product design, voice synthesis, video & filming, coding etc. That means meaningful content could be generated in various ways in a short time, whilst in a cost-saving way.

Generative AI Workshop – Shanghai

Even though we reckon Generative AI is quite “omnipotent”, however, most people (who are not data scientists, or designers) are confused about “where to start?”, “How to make that work to really help our life and business?”, when facing these AIGC tools.

Approaches to Generative AI for CxOs, in China

01 What is AIGC?

Before talking about AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content), let’s have a quick view of its underlying technology, LLMs (Large Language Models). LLMs are advanced forms of AI that have been designed to understand and interact with human language. These complex algorithms have revolutionised many industries, by providing businesses with advanced tools for NLP, sentiment analysis, and content creation.

AIGC is an example of an organisation using LLMs. The most prominent technology in use is ChatGPT, and applications are booming in a variety of use cases, including data analytics, marketing, and social media.

However, this does not limit ChatGPT development in China as many local tech giants are rapidly developing their iterations of this technology. While there are obstacles to be overcome, ChatGPT still remains to be a prominent topic of interest in China and with investment in time and talent it will surely catch up to speed.

Generative AI for Business Intelligence and Creativity

01 AI for Business Intelligence (BI):

In our AI workshop, we demonstrated a GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) to CxOs, which enabled technology to show the evolution of BI interface from analytical to interactive communication.

By simply communicating with the chatbot, as a user, you can easily avoid all of the technicalities as the system can now generate the relevant algorithms and insights based on the description given by the user. This can enable better efficiency from BI users to focus more on insight generation instead of coding and programming.

Here is a showcase in our workshop of a simple but illustrated company collateral creation. In this one, we use ChatGPT to generate image prompts and slogans using job descriptions, and Midjourney to generate images to create a recruitment poster for Artefact.
