Agentic AI marks a major turning point. While generative AI allowed employees to save time and improve comfort—making them the masters and beneficiaries of the technology, agentic AI changes the game entirely. The growing autonomy of these systems makes it possible to automate entire processes, no longer just at the request of individual users, but as part of a planned transformation.
In a highly competitive international landscape, this evolution is driving a profound transformation of jobs, affecting everything from work content and conditions to required skills and performance metrics. Recent graduates, in particular, face new hurdles entering the job market in fields like marketing, communications, auditing, and the legal profession, as AI takes over an increasing share of repetitive tasks.
In response to this reality, the Human Technology Foundation is building a Coalition of committed business leaders driven by a strong conviction: the development of agentic AI is a powerful driver of performance, productivity, and innovation, but it also represents a major social challenge. The transition to these technologies must be anticipated, organized, and supported to ensure it serves as a lever for sustainable and inclusive value creation.
A Coalition to Understand, Act, and Support
The “Agentic AI and Work” Coalition aims to bring together voluntary companies around three strategic objectives:
- Anticipate the transformations triggered by agentic AI on roles, tasks, and professions.
- Identify declining roles and growing professions to support skill development and career transitions for employees.
- Rethink organizational structures to enable role reassignment and maximize opportunities for value creation.
The initiative is designed to be supported by public authorities, including France Travail, the French Ministry of Labor, and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
“It is a fact that certain professions are becoming less viable. Others are undoubtedly emerging, and it is up to us to shape them. We must therefore support the transition of a large number of people from the known to a form of the unknown. This guidance is a responsible way to implement agentic AI while keeping the human element at the center.“, Éric Salobir, President of the Human Technology Foundation.
A Concrete Roadmap
The Coalition has set a tangible action plan, structured into several phases:
- Analysis of the impact of agentic AI on tasks and jobs starting in Summer 2026.
- Mapping of at-risk roles and career pathways in the Fall.
- Design of a cross-company professional mobility platform.
- Development of training programs for the effective implementation of career transitions.
This work will leverage the collective expertise of the Human Technology Foundation and the multi-stakeholder dialogue it facilitates among its partners: corporations, labor unions, research labs, and international institutions.
Agentic AI is not just a threat. It can also pave the way for a value-creating reorganization of work by improving quality, boosting customer loyalty, developing new business models, or bringing previously outsourced activities back to Europe. The Coalition intends to use training as a tool for professional dignity and to provide public policymakers with concrete solutions to support these transitions.
